Among the world’s most sustainable insurance companies
Storebrand has qualified for the prestigious Dow Jones Sustainability World Index (DJSI World) 2010-2011. This is the 13. sequtive year that Storebrand has been included in the Index. The qualification means that Storebrand is among the top 10 per cent within its industry worldwide in terms of sustainability.
Storebrand's ambition is to be the leading sustainable financial institution within the Nordic region. One of the merits is to be included in the DJSI. As the only Nordic insurance company, Storebrand has been included in the Index since the establishment in 1999. – The inclusion in this globally renowned index is recognition of our long-term environmental and social performa¬nce, says Elin Myrmel-Johansen, Executive Vice President, Corporate Responsibility. – It is also recognition of the work we have done in integrating CR in our core business.
DJSI World consists of the world leading sustainability-driven companies. Based on analysis of among 2 500 companies worldwide, the 10 percentage best of each branch are picked based on highly qualified assessment of their performance within the economic, social and environmental areas.
Five Norwegian companies are included in the Index. DJSI is an important tool and reference for investors and other stakeholders that assess sustainability portfolios.
